The internet is abuzz with news today that Paramount Pictures has chosen Jon M. Chu to direct G.I. Joe 2, the sequel to 2009's G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. Production will begin this fall.
Jon Chu recently directed Justin Bieber: Never Say Never. Currently in its third week of release, "Never Say Never" has earned nearly $60 million at the domestic box office. While I'm not exactlly thrilled by the subject matter of his last film, I don't think fans should so quickly dismiss Jon Chu's talent as a capable director for GI Joe 2.
