This summer, Hollywood returns to the Planet of the Apes franchise with Rise of the Apes. Not a whole lot is known about the movie at this point except that it appears to be a prequel depicting, well, the rise of the apes. But does the world need another remake, reboot or re-imaging? Tim Burton certainly thought so, and look how well that did (45% on Rotten Tomatoes (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/1108704-planet_of_the_apes/)).
Personally, I am quite content with the 1968-1973 originals, "Beneath" being my favorite in the series. Sure, film technology has come a long way, but the best CGI will never replace these visionary classics. Or Charlton Heston.
