Unimax Toys has developed a new series of 1:8th scale action figures called GameStars. As the name implies, this line celebrates video game heroes and villains in a collectible 3 3/4" size.

GameStars launches this month with the release of figures based on CRYSIS 2, an upcoming first-person shooter developed by Crytek. In select retail stores now (Target is carrying them), the Crysis 2 GameStars consist of Nomad in Nanosuit 1.0 armor (hero of Crysis 1), Alcatraz Nanosuit 2.0 (hero of the new game), C.E.L.L. Assault Unit, as well three evil aliens for them to fight: Grunt, Stalker and Heavy. Each figure retails for a SRP of $7.99.

Stay tuned for future GameStars action figure news.

I saw these yesterday at my local Target and, while I'm not a collector of 3 3/4" figures, I have to say they looked really cool. Being a sci-fi nerd doesn't hurt either, but wow are these designs cool...and the sculpts and paints all looked pretty spot on (at this scale).

I'm personally waiting to see NECA's 7" Crysis 2 Nanosuit figure before I buy these, but I'm really impressed overall. And the variety and assortment was good too - I found 3 of each Nanosuit, 1 CELL, 3 Grunts, 3 Stalkers, and 2 Heavies on the shelf...
