Kaiyodo’s state-of-the-art, highly articulated Revoltech action figures have become a very hot commodity as of late with a vast array of popular licenses. The innovative Revoltech technology has significantly evolved in the past year with the newly-developed bodies. Today we take a detailed look at the Cattleya action figure from the mature-themed animated series Queen's Blade.

PACKAGING: The extremely busty and curvaceous Cattleya figure is packaged within a colorful window box that features images of the figure in various different poses. The front of the package features the Queen's Blade logo and has a circular plastic window which fully exposes the figure and most of its packed-in accessories. The side panels also include several engineering schematics of the revolutionary Revoltech articulation joints.

SCULPT: This particular figure consists of several individual pieces that can be detached from one another in order to remove her clothing. The body sculpt is very impressive and while the heavily segmented design may not appeal to some, It greatly compliments the articulation joints. Kaiyodo has truly done a remarkable job in capturing the feminine curvature and look of this extremely voluptuous female character. One thing to note is that this figure is not in the same scale as the Yamaguchi series of figures. Another thing about this figure that is different is the fact that it features anatomically correct breast which can be fully exposed or covered up by Cattleya’s dress.

PAINT: The color application on Cattleya is precisely applied, clean and vibrant. There is absolutely no visible paint imperfections found on this figure which stands as a demonstration of the high level of quality control Kaiyodo puts into this amazing action figure. The only problem I found with this figure is that the Revoltech joints are of a slight pink color which does not blend in very well with the figure’s flesh tone. The blend of Cattleya’s violet and pink dress contrasting against her exposed flesh-toned body parts results in a sensual and exciting look that will make your male action figures’ heads turn.

ARTICULATION: The Revoltech joint technology takes articulation to an entirely new level of versatility by allowing this figure to be posed in almost any way you can imagine. There is truly no action figure on the market today that can even come close to the versatility of Revoltech. Thanks to Kaiyodo’s Revoltech technology, Cattleya can be placed in as many dynamic and risqué looking poses you can think of as. Cattleya has well over 30 points or articulation which offers endless different posing options for the figure but her top-heaviness does not allow the figure to be displayed in aerial poses even with the included display base.

ACCESSORIES: When it comes to accesories, Cattleya does not have many aside from her gargantuan broad sword and interchangeable hands and faces. Cattleya also includes a display base with adjustable rods but unfortunately it does not support the figure’s weight because of its exaggerated proportions. Thankfully, Cattleya’s broad sword does support the figure much better than the stand and holds up the figure quite well in many different poses. The figure has three different faces which can be switched out by removing the frontal half of the head piece and two individual hair pieces allowing you to display Cattleya with or without glasses. The figure also conveniently includes a plastic square container to store all of the figure's parts inside.

OVERALL: I have to admit that I have never reviewed any other figure that comes even close to the poseability and detail that the Cattleya Revoltech figure has. Whether you have heard of the anime series before or not, these figures will appeal mainly to male collectors primarily because of the figure’s sexuality and revealing outfit. Cattleya will make a great addition to your anime figure collection especially if you are into busty and scantily clad chicks.
