A shocking move from McFarlane Toys in 2000 was their attempt at Japanese Anime. The figures were a hit and miss. Some, like those from Akira, were excellent renditions, especially Tetsuo and his mutated arm and Kaneda's futuristic bike. Others, such as Major Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell, came out... awkward looking. Still, some real gems in the waves released and it would have been interesting to see more anime properties receive the Todd treatment.
