Following our Duke Nukem Card Back (https://www.figures.com/forums/news/11392-resaurus-duke-nukem.html) earlier this week, here's another little retro gem from ReSaurus: Virus. Originally slated to be a Summer 1998 release, this sci-fi film was pushed back until January 1999 - a month long regarded as a dumping ground for bad films. It certainly didn't help Virus's ticket sales, though much of the blame can be attributed to the "been there, seen it" predictability of the movie itself. It's a shame the movie tanked because the action figures ReSaurus created were quite good, especially the cyber-undead. The deluxe "Goliath" was the crowning jewel in the Virus collection - a hulking piece of twisted plastic with electronic effects. While the figures quickly became easy grabs at discount prices, the Goliath was a bit of a rariety due to the failure of the film, and subsequently the toy line. I managed to snag one at FAO Schwarz, and while not the prettiest toy ever created, it is huge and heavy and a wonderful addition to my sci-fi figure collection.
