Kenner classics get a new lease on life...

San Diego Comic-Con coverage brought to you by Collectibles Insurance (http://www.collectinsure.com/), Big Bad Toy Store (http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/default.aspx), Sekaido (http://www.yesanimation.com/), and Monkey Depot (http://www.monkeydepot.com/Default.asp?Redirected=Y).
If you were a child of the 70's, chances are very good that you owned at least one Kenner Star Wars figure. Gentle Giant is tapping that nostalgia with a "new" collection of super sized vintage figures. 12 inches tall in height, these recreations faithfully capture the look (and limited articulation) of the beloved originals.

Fans attending Comic-Con had the opportunity to pre-order the first release, the Stormtrooper, as a SDCC exclusive. No word on if it will yellow over time like the original, but it was displayed in a MASSIVE blister card idientical to the classic. News at Comic-Con also revealed that Boba Fett will be offered as a Star Wars Celebration V exclusive. Pre-orders for Collector's Club members are currrently being accepted for Boba at gentlegiantltd.com. Like the Stormtrooper, he is priced at $85. Any remaining stock after the show (don't expect any) will be offered to the public.
Other figures on display expected to receive the 12-inch Gentle Giant treatment included Greedo, Chewie, Vader, Luke, Leia, Walrus Man, Hammerhead, Tusken Raider, even an in-scale Jawa with plastic cape (Star Wars enthusiasts know those are rare in mint condition)!
