Once known for its amazing artwork from some of the world’s best artists, Mondo is now a force to be reckoned with in the collectibles world. At San Diego Comic-Con 2017 Mondo had on display some truly inspiring new and upcoming items which we’re happy to share with you. While attendees could get their hands on an exclusive version of the Thing board game, we got to see the Infection at Outpost 31 Blair’s Ship Expansion Set featuring a sweet replica of the flying saucer seen so fleetingly in the film. It’s based on behind the scenes footage and stills painstakingly examined by Mondo and represents a complete ship we’ve never seen before.

Batman: the Animated Series is another major acquisition for Mondo, and it will have a 1/6 action figure series beginning with Batman and Mr. Freeze up for pre-order next month and shipping early next year. These figures have really cool paint applications that make them look animated, and come with a dizzying array of interchangeable parts, accessories, etc.

Also on display were:
-Korra & Asami In the Spirit World Statue (pre-order September), a beautiful rendition and already topping collectors’ must-have lists
-Rocket & Groot Treehugger Vinyl Figure ($60, pre-order now)
-Iron Giant Sofubi ($50)
-Various Mondo Tee-Kis of Cthulhu and Iron Giant varieties
-Mondoids: unique collectibles taking the style of Mad Balls and applying it to fan-favorite licenses like Marvel, Aliens, and horror movies! The “balls” are removable from their display bases and can be mixed and matched, and with a vinyl construction the Mondoids are tentatively aimed at an under-$30 price point. On display were Jason Voorhees, an Alien, Venom, and Green Goblin.
-TV’s Preacher Jesse Custer Statue – prototype
-Rocketeer & Betty Statue
-Alucard Statue
