In February, 2018, the landscape of pop culture was forever changed with the release of Marvel’s Black Panther. In celebration of this groundbreaking cinematic event, Sideshow has unveiled two new collectibles – with distinctly different visual styles – that each pay homage to this inspiring movie and the enduring legacy of its central character.
Sideshow presents Marvel Studios’ Black Panther 1:4 Statue, a stunning new statue celebrating the king of Wakanda. Measuring approximately 26.5” tall, this fully sculpted limited edition polystone statue depicts T’Challa standing with regal poise, looking toward the future with determination and conviction, guided by the spirits of his ancestor’s past. Sideshow’s artists drew inspiration from the character’s on-screen appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, replicating Black Panther’s iconic silhouette and every tiny detail of his sleek Vibranium-infused suit. The statue’s base takes the form of a giant piece of Wakandan architecture portraying the panther goddess Bast, subtly lit with purple highlights.
The Black Panther 1:4 Statue comes with two distinct T’Challa heads — his signature Black Panther mask and an unmasked portrait – allowing fans to switch out elements of the piece to suit their own personal Marvel display or collection.
The Black Panther 1:4 Statue is available for pre-order now, via Sideshow, priced at $620.
The strength of two warrior cultures combines in the new Black Panther Designer Vinyl Collectible Bust by San Francisco-based artist Jesse “Urban Aztec” Hernandez. Released under Sideshow’s Unruly Industries brand – which celebrates diverse and unusual artist-driven designer toys and collectibles – the Black Panther Designer Vinyl Collectible Bust brings Urban Aztec’s signature style to Wakanda.
T’Challa flexes his claws in a Wakandan salute, wearing his iconic Black Panther suit – which has been reimagined with Urban Aztec’s unique design sensibilities, and infused with glowing blacklight-reactive “Vibranium”. Urban Aztec describes his distinctive and eye-catching style as a “combination of graffiti and ancient indigenous culture”. His award-winning work has been featured in projects by Warner Bros., Rolling Stone, Juxtapoz, X-Box, Playstation, and Run the Jewels, as well as in galleries, museums, and murals around the world.
The limited-edition Black Panther Designer Vinyl Collectible Bust is available for pre-order now, via Sideshow, priced at $160.
