The PR Newswire reports that Hasbro has appointed Wicked Cool Toys as global master toy licensee for Micro Machines. Originally produced by Galoob (now part of Hasbro), Micro Machines were a top-selling line in the 1980s and 1990s featuring miniature vehicles and playsets. With the slogan “If it doesn’t say Micro Machines, it’s not the real thing!”, Micro Machines appealed to collectors with licensed sets from Star Wars, Alien, Predator, and one of my favorites, Starship Troopers.

Casey Collins, General Manager and Senior Vice President of Entertainment and Licensing at Hasbro said, “We are thrilled to be partnering with Wicked Cool Toys, an entrepreneurial toy company that has a proven track record in relaunching classic brands with product innovation and a modern, sophisticated marketing approach.  We are excited to collaborate to introduce Micro Machines to a whole new generation of kids.”

The new line of Micro Machines is expected to hit store shelves in the fall of 2020. Further details about the new Micro Machines line are expected to be released later this year. Will that include news of licensed Micro Machines, or will Wicked Cool stick with the classic Micro Machines formula of popular cars, trucks,  airplanes, and military vehicles? Time will tell!
