Weta Workshop is taking on the anticipated big screen adaptation of the classic cyberpunk manga series Battle Angel Alita with the release of several collectibles. Renamed Alita Battle Angel, the Robert Rodriguez directed film features visual effects by Weta Digital – so the prop replicas being made are about as screen accurate as you can get.
The replicas in question include 1:1 scale props of Alita’s sword – the Damascus Blade. Two editions of the sword are being sold: a cosplay version made of durable ABS plastic (available now – $99) or a real stainless steel sword (pictured top, shipping in March – $499.99). Each blade measures over 36 inches.
Alita Battle Angel Epic Minis are also being sold. Available now priced at $29.99 each, the approximately 5-inch tall stylized vinyl figures include Alita, Dr. Ido and Zapan.
Alita Battle Angel opens in theaters February 14.
