NEWS FROM THE FRONT

This week, I got my final newsletter from The International G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club.  Was a bittersweet moment for me. I remember my very first JoeCon – 1998 San Antonio.  There I got to meet a lot of other Joeheads – many I’m still friends with to this day.  I got to view and purchase outfit sets from the likes of Tripwire Toys and Soldiers Thru Time, and I even got the opportunity to construct (with the help two other Joeheads) some 1:6 scale dioramas right outside the showroom.

Flash forward a few years, and I’ve been tapped to be on a team to help design Convention Sets.  Had the privilege to work on the 2003, 2004, and 2005 12″ Figure Sets.  Also got to help design and construct Convention Set Displays for the 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009 Conventions.

Throughout this time, I got to know Brian, Lanny, Angie, and the crew.  Great group of people who loved what they were doing.  Had the opportunity to attend and enjoy many a Convention with friends I’ve made along the way.  The Club will be missed, but will be fondly remembered.

Thanks Brian and Crew for a great 25 years!
