REVIEW: Overwatch Blind Bagged Backpack Hangers

Following my review on Blizzard’s Cute But Deadly Series 3 (Overwatch Edition) mini figures (HERE), we take a look at even more fun Overwatch collectibles: Blind Bagged Backpack Hangers! Hitting retail now priced at around $7 each, this series is produced in-house by Blizzard and is being distributed in the U.S. via UCC Distributing.

Where I was a bit let down by the case pack-out of the Cute But Deadly minis, the Overwatch hanger assortment is very well balanced. Each case contains 24 blind bagged figures. There are 11 figures to collect and one mystery chase figure. Of the 24 blind bags I opened, I received two complete sets of all 11 core characters, one rare chase figure and an extra Reaper to boot! Like past blind bagged case assortments I’ve reviewed, you’ll want to dig around in the box if you’re buying more than one. Otherwise you run the risk of getting a duplicate. Almost every two bags I pulled out and opened contained the same character!

Speaking of characters, the 12 to collect include:

• Ana
• D.Va
• McCree
• Mei
• Widowmaker
• Reaper
• Zenyatta
• Tracer
• Torbjorn
• Reinhardt
• Mystery Chase Figure! (Hint: It’s a gold Reinhardt!)

Depending on the character, each figure stands about 2 inches tall and features an Overwatch logo lobster clasp for hanging on your backpack. These are some very solid PVC plastic hangers, each figure having a nice and hefty feel.

Sculpts are also very well done, each figure featuring a stylized chibi look with big head and little body. Some standouts include the squat dwarf Torbjorn with his steampunk claw and backpack, Tracer with her translucent yellow plastic goggles, and the Buddha ‘bot Zenyatta and his great metallic paint deco.

Speaking of metallic decos, the rare chase figure is a stunning gold-plated variant of Reinhardt! This is a seriously shiny figure and an eye-poppin’ exclusive. You’ll feel like your found real gold if you score this guy.
