New York Comic Con 2017 coverage brought to you by Eaglemoss Collections.
1000 Toys is best known in sixth scale collecting circles for their unique, hard-to-find, limited edition Synthetic Human figures. These are not mass market figures by any means. New York Comic Con showed the Japanese company is looking to expand with licensed properties.
On display at Diamond’s booth was a stunning sixth scale figure of the futurirstic “Ludens” mascot for Kojima Productions, the new video game company founded by Hideo Kojima, creator of the Metal Gear series. This figure is slated for release in March 2018 priced at $340.
Another property on display were action figures for the sci-fi anime and manga Blame! 1/12th scale figures included the main protagonist Killy ($65, JUN178521) and Safeguard ($60, JUN178522), a hunter-killer cyborg unit. Killy comes equiped with the trademark Gravitational Beam Emitter (GBE), as well as his blade, which can be stored on his back. Both figures are fully supervised by Nihei Tstomu, the original artist of the manga series, and are due in comic shops this January.
