HeroClix players and collectors, we’ve got a super special treat for you today. Courtesy of WizKids Games we’re proud to be able to give you the exclusive first look at one of the colossal figures from the upcoming Marvel HeroClix The Mighty Thor set: Carnage! You’ve never seen the symbiote like this, towering over his prey and ready to wreak all kinds of havoc on the HeroClix battlefield. Let’s take a closer look at G004 Carnage.
In the “Mortal Victory” storyline of 1995’s Web of Spider-Man Super Special #1 many of the alien symbiotes attack Earth, and when Carnage is able to grow to a huge size by absorbing them and adding them to his body mass it’s up to Spider-Man and Scarlet Spider to stop him! Carnage comes to the Mighty Thor set as a colossal figure found in a Super Booster and features the massive symbiote-bonded Cletus Kasady striding forward while extruding all sorts of tentacles and bladed tendrils. He is playable at 300, 200, and 100 points along with a 10 point Colossal Indifference click. At any level you can pay extra for up to five Symbiote bystanders (10 points each), tough attackers on their own and healing batteries for Carnage!
Carnage has a short 4 range with three targets, and while he lacks Willpower he has very good stats. A second trait gives him permanent Plasticity and the ability to heal by KO’ing Symbiote bystanders. The monster begins the game as a ranged attacker with Running Shot and Energy Shield/Deflection with Shape Change to back up his defense. He also has access to his Colossal Retaliation power at the start of each point level, potentially letting him be placed to make a close attack against someone who attacked him or damaged an ally each turn for free, AND it generates a Symbiote bystander!
Jogging down the dial Carnage gets many of the powers typically associated with the symbiote including Sidestep with Precision Strike, a long run of Super Senses, Charge, Steal Energy, Combat Reflexes, Exploit Weakness, Flurry, Blades/Claws/Fangs, and Regeneration. He never gets access to damage reducers, but you can extend his life by a crazy amount via healing powers and chowing down on Symbiotes. Carnage is for aggressive players looking to take advantage of those 12 and 11 attack values with tons of 5 and 4 damage clicks! If you’re looking to build a theme team with the colossal you’ll need other figures with the Maximum Carnage or Monster keywords.
Get your hands on Carnage and all of the other amazing figures in the Marvel HeroClix The Mighty Thor expansion set when it hits comic book and game stores on August 30th.
