Paizo had a lot of things to talk about at GAMA Trade Show 2017, with some big things coming this year from the RPG giant. The Pathfinder fantasy role-playing game continues to be a major force, with players participating in the company’s organized play events on six continents (they’re looking to support a player group in Antarctica if anyone’s interested)! This year the game will add the Bestiary 6 with all sorts of demonic foes, an Adventurer’s Guide full of heroic and evil organizations, the Book of the Damned, more pocket-sized editions of previously released books, and two new dedicated fantasy adventure paths with Ironfang Invasion and Ruins of Azlant. In addition there will be (as always) more flip-mats, pawns, Adventure Card Game packs, and much more from Paizo’s partners. Lastly, 2017 will feature the launch of WizKids Games’ new unpainted fantasy miniatures line with a series of Pathfinder player characters, NPCs, and monsters!
For those looking for something a bit more… out of this world, coming this summer is Paizo’s “science-fantasy” role-playing game Starfinder! Launching at Gen Con and in stores around the world at the same time, Starfinder takes players thousands of years into the future in the Pathfinder universe with a combination of magic, strange creatures, sci-fi technology, and fast-paced starship combat. The homeworld Golarion is mysteriously gone (preventing any story conflicts with your Pathfinder games), leaving behind a remnant space station of the Pactworld Alliance from which characters can venture out into the stars. The launch will include a hefty core rulebook with everything you need to start playing, the first installment of the Dead Suns Adventure Path organized play arc, a fully fleshed out Player Character Folio, GM Screen, Flip-Mats, and pawns. In October you’ll get the follow up Alien Archive book packed with new races you can play or fight, and up first in June there’s a sample of the game coming to Free RPG Day participants everywhere called First Contact. Lastly, Paizo is partnering with Ninja Division to produce Starfinder pre-painted miniatures, both figures and spaceships!!! https://22bet-br.org/ We saw some 3D renders in the panel and they looked awesome; can’t wait to check these out later this year.
