One of the biggest presenters at the GAMA (Game Manufacturers Association) Trade Show each year is WizKids Games, and in 2017 they showed up with tons of news and lots of great reveals.  In their HeroClix/Dice Masters panel presentations they offered an in-depth look at all of those products slated for release through October, with the HeroClix 15th Anniversary lineup featuring:

  • Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (movie) gravity feed set with 11 figures, 5 exclusive to the core hobby market. April
  • DC Wonder Woman (comic) gravity feed set, 4 figures exclusive to the core hobby market. May
  • Marvel Avengers/Defenders War booster set featuring both teams, Dormammu and Loki, Daredevil sub-theme, Shifting Focus Dr. Strange, anniversary throwback figures, and more. There will also be a Marvel Knights Fast Forces pack alongside this set with Daredevil, Elektra, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Punisher, and Jessica Jones.  Pre-release in April, full release in May
  • Marvel What If? booster set full of alternate takes on familiar characters. The set will include 50 figures and be available just like regular booster releases (was originally going to be a Storyline OP program).  This set will also feature a throwback to the original R-E-V (rookie-experienced-veteran) system of figures with multiple versions of the same character at different power levels.  There will also be a What If? case incentive colossal Ameridroid figure!  June
  • DC Elseworlds booster set, similarly packed with unique versions of traditional heroes and villains. 50 figures, also available normally (was going to be a Storyline OP progam).  Includes case incentive colossal Wonder Woman.  July
  • Marvel The Mighty Thor! booster set with the return of Super Boosters and colossal figures – shown in the presentation were a new Surtur, Groot, and Ymir. This set will also introduce new items and ways to equip them with Mjolnir and other Asgardian weapons.  August
  • DC Harley Quinn and the Gotham Girls booster set focusing on the good and bad ladies of Gotham City! Features lots of characters Harley has worked with and the introduction of Bombshells to HeroClix.  Notably, this set also has the highest ratio of female to male characters in a full booster set ever.  It will also see the return of the “Title Character” mechanic first seen on Deadpool, now applied to the wackiness that is Harley Quinn!  October

WizKids is also hard at work on a new and comprehensive rules update for HeroClix, with articles on the official site outlining the exciting progression.  They aim to complete the new rules and release them in the Fall, at which point they will revamp their Starter Set offers so that there will be products to introduce new players to the game.
