Following the first season cliffhanger, Season 2 of DreamWorks Voltron Legendary Defender sees the paladins scattered throughout the universe in wake of a tough battle with Zarkon, Haggar and the Galra Empire. The team will face new challenges as they bring mighty Voltron back together and plot to take down Zarkon once and for all when Season 2 premieres on Netflix January 20, 2017.

At New York Comic Con, fans were treated to a sneak peek of Season 2 when the cast and crew screened a full episode and answered fan questions on  the Main Stage at Javits Center. Voice actors Jeremy Shada (Lance) and Bex Taylor-Klaus  (Pidge)  joined executive producer Joaquim Dos Santos, co-executive producer Lauren Montgomery and story editor Tim Hedrick to tease what’s in store for Team Voltron.

The cast and crew shared details about the upcoming season to the energetic and packed house including guest voice talent such as Weird Al, Pidge might be a hoarder and Hunk and Lance crash land on an underwater planet in the episode “The Depths”.

Fans also learned more about the new Voltron Playmates Toys (revealed by Nerdist.com) coming to a store near you in January 2017 as well as the Voltron Collective.

New Voltron figures from Playmates Toys releasing early 2017 will include:

  • Basic Figure Assortment ($9.99 each) – Features all five lions, a miniature combined Voltron, and Robeast villain Myzax. Each 5.5-inch figure features either clawing action, projectile launching, or detailed weapons and accessories.
  • Legendary Lion Assortment ($17.99-$29.99 each) – Features the four lions and a deluxe electronic Black Lion. Each figure has 18+ points of articulation, removable speeders with pilots, projectiles, combining weapons, and, in the case of the Black Lion, over 50 sounds–some of which only unlock when you combine all five to form a 16-inch-tall Voltron.
  • 14″ Ultimate Voltron ($39.99) – Features lights, sounds, projectiles, and 26 points of articulation.
  • Defender Gear – rRole play items including masks and Voltron’s Electronic Transforming Sword.
