Voltron gets supersized...

Toynami surprised us at Toy Fair by unveiling an all-new brand called Shogun Warriors. The series will star towering supersized robots reminiscent of the Jumbo Machinders of the 1970's. These will be built Ford tough and feature launching fists. The Shogun Warriors line will launch this summer with two versions of Voltron, both the classic vehicle mode Voltron and the more familiar Lion Force model. These will retail for around $200 each. If the line is successful, other super robots will join the line.

In related robot news, the vehicle Voltron will receive the vinyl figure treatment this April for a SRP of $35.99. It's the perfect companion piece to the Lion Force vinyl figure released last year. In Robotech news, the only new item shown was a Zentraedi BattlePod vinyl figure. Unlike the stripped down first release (due out later this month), this heavy artillery version will sport a cool missile pod.
