When Kotobukiya officially announced they would be producing collectibles based on popular Marvel characters, fans could not help but wonder what amazing pieces would be coming down the pipeline. Now over a year has passed and several unique and artistic pieces have been released including movie busts, designer stylized female figures and of course, Fine Art statues. Today we take a look at one of Koto's latest creations, the Captain America Fine Art Statue.

PACKAGING: This latest addition to the Marvel Fine Art collection is boxed in an elegant white cardboard box with decorative golden trimming. The front of the package has a very simplistic look to it with the product name in black letters in the middle. The back of the box showcases a few color photographs of the statue from different angles and the production number is printed on the bottom of the box.

SCULPT: The creative and talented minds at Kotobukiya have produced a truly spectacular piece that captures Captain America in the heat of a battle with several Hydra soldiers. The level of detail on this statue is incredible and the design of the overall piece is extremely dynamic. While Captain America’s entire body is fully rendered on this piece, the Hydra soldiers are only sculpted from the waist up. This approach in design creates the effect of the soldiers being crushed beneath the all-American super soldier’s feet. Each Hydra soldier has their own individual facial expressions which add realism to the piece as well. What truly makes this statue stand out from the crowd is the fact that it is made to connect perfectly with the Winter Soldier fine art statue to create a tag-team battle scene which is truly amazing.

PAINT: The statue is elegantly painted with a wide range of vibrant colors. The upper torso on Captain America is colored in glossy red, white and blue paint which in my opinion, looks a lot better than the metallic style he has in the new comics. The detail on the individual Hydra soldiers is colored well with little to no paint bleeds or blurs.

OVERALL: Although I would have much preferred that Captain America would have been wearing his traditional uniform, I must admit that this is a very nice piece. The dynamic sculpt is painted exceptionally well and I would love to get my hands on the Winter Soldier statue in order to display the amazing duo in the midst of bashing those Hydra soldiers to a pulp. This is definitely a great collectible and I highly recommend this fine collectible t all true Marvel fans. The statue is currently available for purchase through several online retailers or through Kotobukiya's website.

Nice! You definitely need to get the Winter Soldier too. They look great together, especially with the full Captain America shield base.
