    NYTF16: Mattel

    Suicide Squad, Destiny, Ghostbusters, & More...



    Sunday night at New York Toy Fair 2016 brought a unique Mattel event in an underground venue where the members of the press got to wander around and check out current and upcoming toys from a variety of lines and licenses. There wasn’t a ton of information handed out but we got plenty of great photos for you so check out the full gallery (links above and below)! Here are some of the highlights and things we saw that were cool.


    -DC Comics: Joining Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and the currently available figures are new Multiverse offerings including Superdoom, TV’s Supergirl, Doomsday, BvSDoJ’s Lex Luthor, and from the Dark Knight Returns Batman and Mutant Leader

    -Destiny: The ultra-popular video game joins the construction craze with upcoming sets from Mega Bloks including vehicles, aliens, and packs featuring unique armor and weapon pieces

    -Ghostbusters: We got our first look at the new figures from the upcoming reboot movie along with the 6 inch Ghost Action Figure line ($9.99) featuring the old Stay Puft Marshmallow Man!

    -Halo: A new 6 inch Collector Line brings action figures ($19.99) and Ghost Vehicle ($29.99) while there are new Mega Bloks, roleplay weapons, and remote control vehicles

    -Masters of the Universe: 2.0 Filmation-style figures, PowerCon exclusives, and more

    -Minecraft: Figures, mini figures, and Hot Wheels vehicles

    -Suicide Squad: A brand new debut! Mattel will be bringing us members of the “Skwad” and showed off 12 inch Deadshot and Joker and 6 inch Boomerang, Killer Croc, Katana, Batman, Deadshot, and Joker

    -Thundercats Classic: Heroes and villains of Thundera on display included Lion-O, Mumm-Ra, Pumyra, and Jackalman

    -Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mega Bloks is bringing turtle power to construction toys with various incarnations of the team from different eras and art styles
