Captain Action Enterprises, licensors of the popular Captain Action line, has joined forces with 3rd Son Books to announce the debut of the first-ever Captain Action Footlocker.

This hand-crafted collectible is constructed in the USA, made of wood panels with a cover lid image, color coordinating nylon handles and a vacuform tray with matching interior graphics. The footlocker measures 6 ½ X 13 ½ X 4 ¾ inches. It comes packed in a retro style outer-cardboard box, complete with full color images. The product is slated for a very limited production run. Similar to the 1960’s G.I. Joe footlocker, this unique collectible offers fans a place to keep their growing collection of Captain Action items.

“We previewed the Captain Action Footlocker earlier this week at the New York Toy Fair, and were overwhelmed by the positive response,” said Paul G. A. Harrison, Owner of 3rd Son Books. “We feel it’s the perfect intersection of collectible nostalgia and the artisan craft trend.”

Each footlocker will also be pre-packed with a random assortment of items from the ongoing Round 2 series of Captain Action figures and costume sets.

“As a hand-crafted item, this collectible will be offered at a higher price-point, but we feel it’s definitely worth it. And with only 100 being produced, it will also become ‘collectible’ very quickly,” said Joe Ahearn, Co-Founder of Captain Action Enterprises.

A Dr. Evil Collector’s Footlocker is planned for a San Diego Comic-Con debut.

The Captain Action Collector’s Footlocker will debut at C2E2 and will retail for $99.98. The limited edition collector’s item will subsequently be sold online and through select retailers.
