    SDCC14: Hasbro MARVEL

Marvel Legends, Universe, & Super Hero Mashers Reveals...

On Saturday at San Diego Comic-Con we sat down with a few hundred friends to hear the latest from the good people working on Marvel Comics toys at Hasbro, and they had quite the presentation for us! On stage were Adam Biehl (VP, Global Brand Strategy & Marketing), Jesse Falcon, Dwight Stall, and others excited about sharing the news. First up was Super Hero Mashers, the current hit line for kids that started back in January of this year. The series continues in 2015 with Wave 1 featuring Logan, Skaar, Juggernaut, and Whiplash.

Most of the attendees in the audience were there to hear about Marvel Legends, and they got info in spades. The Avengers sub-line extends into 2015 with Wave 1: Machine Man, Scarlet Witch, and Captain Marvel (with interchangeable heads with/without mask), all of whom include parts to create the Build-A-Figure Odin All-Father OR King Thor! Avengers Wave 2 in 2015 will bring Spider-Woman with two sets of interchangeable wings, Hellcat, and a Thanos Build-A-Figure based on his recent look in Infinity. We also got to see some really cool examples of new Alex Maleev artwork on the packaging. Marvel's not done with the movie Legends line either, with upcoming figures of Nick Fury, Maria Hill, and Agent Coulson who comes with his alien tech blaster and faces with or without shades. A Spider-Man Legends line will bring a regular version of Parker plus Spider-Man 2099 and Spider-Girl, with an accompanying BAF Hobgoblin. Coming a bit further out, later next year, is a very special Marvel Legends team pack featuring 2008 comic book Guardians of the Galaxy Star-Lord, Rocket Raccoon, Groot, Drax, and Gamora! Finally, beyond that we'll see a new Magik and the first ever action figure of Dormammu. Speaking of Guardians of the Galaxy, the movie line has done so well that Hasbro is looking into the possibility of a second wave.

Second in popularity was the Marvel Infinite Series, and we got to see Wave 1 for 2015 with Black Cat, 90's Bishop, Big-Time Spider-Man, Jim Lee era Beast, and Sandman; those final two will also have variants in classic gray Beast and all sand Sandman. Wave 2 coming later next year will bring Thunderstrike, classic Doctor Octopus, Armored Daredevil, Cyttorak-empowered Colossus, Vulture, Shanna, and Northstar. 2016 will bring the two 3 3/4 inch Twitter fan vote winners, modern Gamora in Wave 1 and Captain Marvel in Wave 2.
