2014 is already starting off as an interesting year for Mattel's DC Comics collection. As you probably already know the Mattycollector DC subscription drive did not succeed, meaning that we won't be getting a full line of new figures. However, Mattel is going forward with the figures they already had completed, so coming to the Matty website are Superboy, Ice, Aquaman, and Damian Wayne Robin. These were all on display along with the giant Doomsday in containment suit coming to SDCC this year. As a nod to the hardcore and longtime fans, Mattel this year is introducing a "new" line of figures, the retro Super Powers Collection! Reusing DCUC sculpts, these figures come packaged on enormous classic Super Powers cards in all of their glory. On display were Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Mr. Mxyzptlk, Green Lantern as the Riddler (a nod to the Super Powers repaint), and Gold Superman. Each figure will be $30 and should arrive in the Fall. They even include Collect & Connect parts to build a huge Kalibak!

Total Heroes is the new DC Comics 6 inch superhero line that works for both kids and collectors. The Toy Fair display let us get up close and personal with the basic figures including Flash, Wonder Woman, Sinestro, Superman, Bizarro, Batman, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and Mr. Freeze. Meanwhile, the Ultra versions (coming to Mattycollector for $20 quarterly) will bring Firestorm, John Stewart, Black Manta, and Batman Beyond, each with tons of accessories and interchangeable heads and faces. There will also be a three-pack with Superman, black-suited Batman, and Lex Luthor coming in the Fall. On hand from the Target exclusive Justice League kid-friendly toy line were Lex, Superman, Batman, Flash, Aquaman, Green Lantern, and an awesome Hawkman.

Down in the 3 3/4 inch scale are the new Multiverse figures, and in addition to the currently available first wave Mattel had out the second wave coming in the Spring and featuring Michael Keaton Batman (masked and unmasked), Michelle Pfeiffer Catwoman, Danny DeVito Penguin, Terence Stamp Zod, and Christopher Reeve Superman. The slightly larger kid-targeted Batman 4 inch toy line had the full spread with lots of Batman variants, Green Arrow, Deathstroke, Clayface, Robin, members of the Gotham Tunnel Takeover set (including Solomon Grundy, Red Robin, Nightwing), and even more. As if that wasn't enough, also on display were the Batman '66 figures plus Batmobile and role-play items, and the fun little kiddie figures and vehicles of Imaginext. See all of those and more in our photo gallery (link below).

Wow I am excited to see that Supeman II General Zod because I really want an Ursa fig (--and Non too if possible)

Also love that Mr. freeze in the package in the background

They better make sure to pack a lot of Mr. Mxyzptlk in their case ratios because I think that one is going to be a very, very hot seller and I don't feel like paying scalper prices for him.
