One of the coolest events at Toy Fair doesn't happen inside the exhibit hall, but the night before the big show in a basement gallery underneath Toy Tokyo. That would be Toypocalypse, the Four Horsemen's private event where they show off their awesome projects! This year was Toypocalypse 4: FanEXtasy, and attendees got to see the latest developments in a variety of lines. For the Gothitropolis fans who were part of the Horsemen's recent Kickstarter campaign, you know that there have been some issues regarding factories, but the team is hard at work on getting those figures done and in your hands. On display were some 2-up prototypes that looked incredible, including the Vulture with Bone head and wings, Screaming Eagle, Pink Flamingo, and more. Look for more production news on the Raven figures very soon.

Another featured existing project was that of the Power Lords, the classic action figure line brought back to life in super cool and articulated 3 3/4 inch figures with the Four Horsemen's usual flair. We've seen several convention and online exclusives over the last few months, and at Toy Fair they had some new designs and info for the fans. Plastered all over one wall were brand new cardback designs fresh in, and they will be used for Adam Power, Ggripptogg, Lord Power, Ggrapptikk Soldier, Sydot, and Ggrabbtargg. Ggripptogg is in production now, and Series 1 should be on the way in a few months. Meanwhile, a sweet volcano display area held previously released figures, prototypes we've seen before, and brand new 2-up prototypes of upcoming figures including Sydot, the multi-colored and evil-looking Disguyzor and the incredibly cool Power Soldier Assassin. Lucky attendees could even purchase the show exclusive Barlow Concept version of Ggripptogg, a unique dark colored alien with painted details.

The major new announcement at Toypocalypse was Four Horsemen's new Mythic Legions, a fantasy-based line of figures based on an armored fighter's form! As usual with these guys, the figures will include multiple variations based on different heads and other elements as well as paint schemes. The prototype figures on display looked great, and ranged from knight-like heroes to dark armored villains with antlered helmets, skeleton warriors, and even dwarves! The figures themselves and a series of behind-the-scenes sculpts on the wall showed off the different variations they can achieve with just a few different parts. There aren't a whole lot of firm details on Mythic Legions just yet, though the Four Horsemen confirmed that they're going into production on them ASAP. They will most likely be in the 4 inch scale as they want to expand the line with in scale monsters, dragons, playsets, you name it! Figures will come fully painted and like the Power Lords will feature Glyos compatible joints. Right now there are four characters planned with various variants, and there's the possibility of early versions with more solid colored paint jobs like we've seen with Power Lords. Cornboy couldn't hold back his enthusiasm when talking about this new line, and noted that with a name like Mythic Legions there's always the possibility that later we could see things like "Galactic" or other Legions... We here at Figures.com can't wait to see this line come to fruition and how far it can go!
