Figure and Packaging Design Inside...

What started off as an ingenious convention exclusive has now morphed into its own mini action figure series. Following NECA's SDCC13 Exclusive Friday the 13th Jason ('89 Video Game Appearance) (HERE) and recently released Nightmare on Elm Street Classic Video Game Appearance Freddy Krueger (HERE) comes the 1989 NES title Robocop.

Pictured top is the retro game box art, err, action figure packaging for this cool throwback toy. Loving the "Part Man, Part Machine, All Toy". Like the garish video game accurate color schemes of Freddy (bright orange) and Jason (purple), the Robocop figure is painted a lovely blue (with a hint of cel shading). The figure is based on NECA's popular 7" spring-loaded holster Robocop figure and includes his Auto-9 Pistol. Limited to only one production run, Video Game Robocop is tentatively scheduled for release in February 2014.
