Sideshow Busts Out The Big Guns For Their Marvel Statue Line...

The big guys were let out of the Marvel vault this past week with the debut of numerous amazing new oversized pieces at this year's Comic-Con. The Sideshow booth was center stage for the world debut of the mammoth Apocalypse premium format figure which stood side by side with the recently-revealed gigantic Gladiator Hulk. Measuring over 30" in height, Apocalypse is one of the most fan-requested villains from the Marvel universe and is sure to be a big hit with collectors. The star-spangled avenger and his arch nemesis are receiving an updated premium figure treatment as well in the form of a menacing new Red Skull and dynamically-posed Captain America statue in his Ultimates costume. These awesome new quarter scale pieces were accompanied by the recent Punisher and Black Widow pieces which looked even better in person.

While the new Marvel premium format figures were incredibly impressive to look at, they were not the ultimate eye candy at the show. The jaw-dropping Legendary Dr. Doom and Wolverine statues were on display alongside a towering Galactus comiquette complete with his microscopic surf-boarding herald. While all these pieces were very impressive, the real show-stopper was the intricately-detailed and imposing Dr. Doom statue who effortlessly out-shined his oversized neighbors. Life size light-up busts and full size replicas of the Mark VII, War Machine 2.0 and Iron Patriot were also on display and turning heads all week long.
