Diablo III, Arkham Origins and Planet of the Apes...
In addition to revealing tons of new product from exisiting licenses, NECA announced at San Diego Comic-Con the acquisition of THREE new properties. The first license was revealed by a stunning action figure prototype on display: Blizzard's Diablo III. Releasing this holiday season will be a very cool 9-inch tall action figure of Diablo himself, the The Lord of Terror, and the primary antagonist in the Diablo video game series.
Another license announced via new product was Batman: Arkham Origins. NECA will be releasing a Grapnel Gun Replica from the upcoming game (see our story HERE) and a Quarter Scale Origins Batman is also in the works.
Lastly, NECA's Head of Product Development Randy Falk was super excited to share news that they have acquired the license for Planet of the Apes. This includes both the rights for the classic movie series as well as the newer films (2011's Rise of the Planet of the Apes and 2014's Dawn of the Planet of the Apes). NECA plans to go deep with this license, figures from both the new and vintage films to be released in their own separate series. Apes will be the primary focus, though a few human characters may make the cut. As one of Randy Falk's favorite movie properties, fans can expect only the best for this series. Expect more news leading up to the 2014 Toy Fair in February.
