Toynami has long held the Robotech license, and with it has done some amazing toys like fully transformable Veritechs in three different series, battloids, vinyl Zentraedi mecha, and much more. Of late the line has slowed, but there were still some cool things to see in the Toynami Robotech display at SDCC 2013. The incredible Zentraedi Officer’s Pod, most likely the final item in the Robot Vinyl Collection, was in the case but still had the dreaded “Coming Soon” and price “TBA” on its placard. The good news is that it still looks awesome, so hopefully we’ll be able to add this to our collections soon. More progress could be seen in the new VF-1 10 inch plush Veritechs! On display were Max Sterling’s VF-1A, Rick Hunter’s VF-1J, and Roy Fokker’s VF-1S. Each plush will run about $24.99 and the series is coming soon. Beyond those upcoming releases, Toynami also displayed two of its Beta fighters, one of the coolest and most underrated mecha in recent years.
