TF13: Factory Entertainment Taps The Power of UNIVERSAL

New Licenses Include Jaws, Jurassic Park, More...

As announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2012 (see HERE), Factory Entertainment had acquired a slew of new licenses, including numerous properities from NBC Universal. These include such classic movies as Jaws, Back to the Future, Jurassic Park and Ghostbusters. Toy Fair 2013 unveiled early prototypes for all these films, Factory Entertainment's focus to be on Shakems - premium motion statues, aka deluxe bobbleheads. Please note that everything pictured are early prototypes and NOT finished product.

JAWS: There's just not enough merchandise for this 1975 Steven Spielberg film, so I was extremely excited to see Factory Entertainments many offerings. Slated for release third quarter 2013, deluxe oversized Shakems include "Swimmer" - a three diminsional representation of the Jaws movie poster, "Bruce Shark" - a full on model of the film's star, and "Orca Attack" - the movie's epic finale, similar to the McFarlane toy release years ago.

JURASSIC PARK: Hasbro may be doing new toys for the kiddos (read our story HERE), but Factory Entertainment's items will look swell on display in the home or office. 3rd quarter releases include Dilophosaurus, Raptor Hatchling, oversized T-Rex and the colorful Park Vehicle. Collect the last two to recreate the classic chase scene in the movie!

BACK TO THE FUTURE: Another great movie with a lack of collectibles, Back to the Future will receive several Shakems including Doc, Marty McFly on his hoverboard, and the DeLorean Time Machine. An odd but hilarious entry will be Manure Truck Accident. All these arrive 3rd quarter 2013.

GHOSTBUSTERS: Who you gonna call? Factory Entertainment will be going all out with this license, releasing Shakems of the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man (happy and angry versions!), Busters Ray Stanz and Peter Venkman, and Slimer. Slimer will also appear on a cool Retro Lunch Box.

Note: while there are "No Photos Please" signs visible in sections of their booth, Factory Entertainment did authorize us to take photos and share them.
