    TF13: The Loyal Subjects

Transformers And GI Joe Vinyl, Skateboards, Shirts, & More...

A relative newcomer to the scene, The Loyal Subjects showed off some really impressive new and upcoming products at Toy Fair. Their most famous licenses are Transformers and GI Joe, and for both brands they’ve created great retro-inspired t-shirts, skateboard art, and a new line of mini figures. Some of the shirts, including chunky Transformers designs, were already available at 2012’s Anime Expo, but there are plenty more on the way including fun action prints of and slogans from both classic cartoons. The skateboards are really cool, with flashy and colorful art capturing the spirit of your favorite characters (even before seeing it in person at Toy Fair I had the Grimlock skateboard on pre-order with my local comic book store).

The coolest thing that really caught our eye at The Loyal Subjects was their line of small vinyl figures. Both Transformers and GI Joe are coming to you in great 3 inch figures styled after the original cartoon characters (G1 for TF) with a neat chunky style designed by vinyl and Disney guru Les Schettkoe. The figures are highly articulated for small vinyl, come with accessories and weapons, and are packed in blind boxes. Sold to stores in 16 packs, both the Transformers and Joe series have 8 figures plus additional, rare chase figures. The Transformers set even has ultra rare “contest figures” in a special promotion with Hasbro! Look for the Joe set around March and Transformers closer to Comic-Con. Single blind boxes will retail for about $12.99, and Toy Tokyo will have exclusive 2-packs.

Also in the works by The Loyal Subjects are large scale fiberglass versions of the mini figures, and additional sets are a certainty. Their Transformers license even includes access to the movies, but for now they’re focusing on Generation 1 and all of our old favorites. Keep your eyes open for more news from The Loyal Subjects soon.
