TF13: DC Collectibles New 52 Figures

Heroes, Villains, And Everything In Between...

DC Comics’ New 52 has been going now for about a year and a half, and fans are clamoring for action figures of their favorite heroes and villains in their current looks. DC Collectibles is meeting the challenge with its line of figures, having already given fans the complete Justice League as well as Darkseid, a Parademon, and most recently Green Arrow. One of the biggest questions we had going into Toy Fair was what would be next for the New 52 Justice League series? Today we got our answer.

First off was the previously announced Pandora, but we got a great look at the most current prototype. She’s got a great detailed sculpt with cool paint apps on her face and her trademark dark red outfit, not to mention her sweet dual pistols. DC also announced that Pandora will come packaged in a skull box! Look for her in November of this year. More heroes include the just announced two-packs of Wonder Woman & Katana and Flash & Vibe. While they couldn’t tell us everything, DC did mention that “there are reasons why those characters are packed together.” Also, the Katana on display has a black lower face; this will be fixed in the final version. Finally, the Wonder Woman and Flash figures are the same as the single packed Justice League versions, but will probably have some sort of deco change. Look for both of those in Summer for $39.95. Other multi-packs include the Justice League “Superheroes vs. Villains” 7 pack action figure box set with Aquaman, Flash, Batman, Black Manta, Joker, Captain Cold, and Catwoman that’s exclusive to this set! This set is scheduled for Winter 2013 at $99.95. Also on deck for Fall is a Justice League Trinity 3-Pack set with Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman ($49.95).

It’s a good thing we’ve been getting so many heroes, because evil is about to break loose in the DC Universe with a series of bad guys. Coming later this year are Black Manta (with swords that he can sheathe in his backpack), Joker (in his Joe’s Garage outfit with tool accessories and ultra creepy face), Black Adam, and Captain Cold (with frost weapon). These guys all looked great, but I’ve got to say that Black Adam and Joker were really incredible up close. Showing up to combat all that evil are heroes Martian Manhunter (the first figure in his New 52 look) and new Earth Green Lantern Simon Baz (with a pistol that fits in his holster). All of these figures are scheduled for release later this year, so get ready to fill out your New 52 collection.

The final entry in the New 52 this year is the enormous Swamp Thing! As he appears in his comic, this Swampy is a massive character with huge wings, antlers, and built in armor. Swamp Thing’s wings are hinged at his back and can move up and down as well as flap forward and back, and his sword and shield are both removable. This Deluxe action figure is due out at the end of the year.
