The fantasy epics Lord of the Rings have already spawned some incredible LEGO sets, and Hobbit has just recently joined the party as well. 2013 promises several new building sets from all of the movies, starting with the long-awaited Wizard Battle ($15.99) featuring Gandalf’s epic duel with Saruman in Orthanc tower! A more peaceful scene is captured in The Council of Elrond ($29.99) with a section of Rivendell and mini-figs of Elrond, Gimli, Frodo, and Arwyn, plus the One Ring on the pedastal for Gimli to try and chop with his axe.

In the larger scale sets there’s Battle at the Black Gate ($59.99) with the final conflict from Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. In addition to the imposing black wall and gate the set includes Gandalf, a giant eagle, the Voice of Sauron, Aragorn, and orcs. Finally, the Pirate Ship Ambush ($99.99) brings a huge, heavily armed seafaring vessel to the Lord of the Rings sets and plenty of figures including Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, ghost warriors, orcs, and more.

All of the new Lord of the Rings sets are scheduled for release in June, and there are more Hobbit sets coming later this year.
