One of the nicest and coolest group of individuals in the toy world today has to the Four Horsemen. Epic sculptors best known for their work on Mattel's DC and Masters of the Universe lines, they've worked on countless other projects including their own Outer Space Men, Seventh Kingdom, Gothitropolis, and more. At Toy Fair this year they held a very cool event called Toypocalypse 3, bringing together fans to witness the birth of their latest project... and to celebrate it with cake.

In the Underground Gallery beneath New York City's Toy Tokyo, the Four Horsemen held court among displays of Masters of the Universe figures, Gothitropolis beauties, and Outer Space Men (including some new prototypes). The main event though was the debut of their Power Lords prototypes! For those who may be too young to remember, Power Lords were a 1980's alien action figure line that was way ahead of its time, designed by renown sci-fi artist Wayne Barlowe and produced by Revell. On hand were lots of classic Power Lords toys and original artwork by Wayne Douglas Barlowe himself... who was also there to sign autographs!

The new Horsemen Power Lords are fully modern figures with the group's well established fantastic sculpts and of course beautiful paint jobs. On display were two reimaginings of two vintage figures: Adam Power and Ggripptogg. Scheduled for release later this year, these new figures will be in roughly 4 inch scale, and in place of the action gimmicks of the vintage line, multiple variants will see release. The plan is to release these in pairs, Adam Power and Ggripptogg for wave 1, followed by a variant wave. The Four Horsemen plan to launch the line beginning by San Diego Comic-Con.

Of course, no fun toy get together would be complete without food, and Toypocalypse 3 was no different. For this event TV's Cake Boss created a Power Lords cake complete with working volcano and edible figures! They even filmed a segment there with the introduction of the cake to the Four Horsemen and Barlowe, and then we all got to partake of the delicious cake.

It's hard to pick a highlight from the evening (seeing the new Power Lords, hanging out with the Horsemen, meeting Barlowe, or eating cake), but needless to say a great time was had by all.
