Hot Toys Hall of Armor Update - Pre-Orders and Pricing

Display Your Iron Man Collection With Style...

In an update to our story HERE, pre-orders are now being accepted for Hot Toys' new "Hall of Armor" - light-up display cases for your 12-inch Iron Man figure collection. BigBadToyStore.com has them listed as single pieces ($124.99), sets of four ($434.99) and sets of seven ($739.99). For those on a budget, Sideshow Collectibles has a set of four listed ($469.99) with a monthly payment plan available.

Keep in mind that these do not include a figure. Are these display cases worth over $100 each? I'll let their specs help you decide. Each Hall of Armor, releasing in May 2013, features:

    - Approximately 13.7" H x 9" W x 6.8" D (35cm H x 23cm W x 17.5cm D)

    - LED light-up functions (Three 3A batteries required, not included.)

    - Suitable for all Hot Toys 1/6th scale Iron Man Collectible Figurine Series (Figures are not included and are sold separately.)

    - Transparent acrylic plate with stickers with holographic-like effect

    - Each Hall of Armor can be combined with another to create the diorama setting

    - AC/ DC compatible (AC/ DC adaptor is not included.)

DS001A - Each Hall of Armor includes 1 transparent acrylic plate and 7 types of stickers with holographic-like effect of Mark I-VII (total 7 stickers)

DS001B - Set of 4 includes 4 transparent acrylic plates and 2 sets of stickers with holographic-like effect of Mark I-VII (total 14 stickers)

DS001C - Set of 7 includes 7 transparent acrylic plates and 3 sets of stickers with holographic-like effect of Mark I –VII (total 21 stickers)

Are you kidding me with this? I don't hear any roflcopters so this must be legitimate. They're selling 7, and in it's simplest form, BOXES for $739.99?! That is an absolutely outlandish amount of money for a couple boxes that light up. I can see people maybe buying one, but the whole 'diorama' deal with set you back $750? I see no one buying these, but I suppose they cost about $10 to make so Hot Toys won't be so much out of pocket. Their figures are expensive enough without overly expensive 'dioramas'.
    Sore Wa Kantan Desu!
