If you're a Star Wars collector and you don't yet own the Hot Toys DX07 Star Wars: Luke Skywalker (Bespin Outfit) 1/6th scale figure, your collection is incomplete.

Hot Toys, in conjunction with Sideshow Collectibles and Lucasfilm , has produced what many collectors will consider one of the finest - if not the finest - Star Wars action figure ever released with this amazing release. Featuring two fully-articulated, accessorized and detailed 12" figures as well as an impressive diorama base and figure stand, this figure was recently included in multiple "Top 10 of 2012" lists from our staff and is no doubt on many collector's lists as well for a favorite from this last year.

    PACKAGING:

Featuring an over-sized closed-box package with both figures and accessories protected by both plastic trays and durable foam, this figure packaging stays attractive while keeping it simple and contemporary. The exterior of the package features the Star Wars title front and center while at the bottom feature the figure's name. The companies names are also included in smaller font in the lower corners.

The interior of the package houses the figures surrounded by the previously mentioned durable foam as well as the diorama base and stand in a protective plastic tray.

    SCULPT:

Featuring an impressive "authentic and detailed, fully realized likeness of Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker," this is perhaps one of the finest sculpts by Hot Toys artists in some time. Considering it's based on an actor most fans and collectors are very familiar with and it's no doubt tough to make everyone happy, these two head sculpts (both featuring the Parallel Eyeball Rolling System (PERS) system, will no doubt keep a majority of fans not only content, but very very satisfied.

The movie-accurate facial expressions captured here are jaw-dropping and will leave many fans and non-fans alike awe-struck with the level of detail. Complete with wrinkles, skin textures, battle damage and both matted and wind-blown hair, the two head sculpts make it fully possible for two unique looks to be displayed.

    ACCESSORIES:

Considering the impressiveness of the head sculpts, the accessories and other minor sculpted details are also impressive and well worth noting. This includes Luke's blaster, multiple light sabers (both lit and unlit), multiple hands sculpts, the severed hand/stump, and the auto-tourniquet. One of the coolest accessories to also be included in a recent Hot Toys release is the severed "Luke Skywalker as Darth Vader" head from the film scene on Dagobah (above). Available exclusively in limited set, this head is simply another minor detail with a major impact that has fans clamoring for the hard-to-find and sold out limited edition version of this figure.

Likewise, no fan's display will be complete without Luke hanging on the gorgeously fabricated light-up Bespin weather vane diorama which can be mounted onto a wall or ceiling (above). Allowing 90 degree movement, this diorama compliments the battle-damaged figure perfectly. For the non-battle damaged Luke, a figure base from the interior of Bespin is also included and makes for an ideal way to display this particular figure (at top).

    ARTICULATION:

Both figures included here are based on the TrueType body, which features over 30 points of articulation, including a ball-joint neck, ball-joint shoulders and hips, cut thighs and biceps, double-hinge elbows and knees, and ball/peg wrists and ankles among others. It's these articulation points along with the clothing which allows the figure to be posed in a variety of positions.

    CLOTHING:

It's impossible not be impressed with the amount of detail included on the outfits here by Hot Toys' fabricators who've obviously gone to great lengths to ensure screen-accuracy. The outfits - of which there are two included here, one normal and one battle-damaged, feature a khaki jacket and pants, a tank-top undershirt, a leather-like brown belt with blaster pistol holster and pouches, and a pair of fabric camel-colored boots. Both sets feature impressive texture, detail, and minute stitching which once again solidifies in every collector's mind that Hot Toys truly is the king of 1/6th scale collectibles at this point in time.

    COST & OVERALL IMPRESSION:

With a suggested retail price of $300, some collectors might cringe at the price. However, when considering specifically what is included here: two fully-articulated, accessorized and detailed 12" figures and two impressive diorama bases, this figure set is - in fact - a bargain. Not only that, but it's actually one of the better buys Hot Toys has released in recent memory. The level of detail, amount of accessories, the impressiveness of the sculpting and outfits...each of these simply continues to add favor to Hot Toys in the eyes of collectors and fans everywhere.

As of now, many retailers are out of stock so if you're a fan of Star Wars, Luke Skywalker, or simply impressive 1/6th scale figures which will make the rest of your collector buddies jealous, this is one to add to your collection. Sure to be a talking point for those who see your display, the Hot Toys DX07 Luke Skywalker (Bespin Outfit) is one of the finest figures around.
