Steve Rogers as Captain America...
As we reported to you from San Diego Comic-Con (see our story HERE), NECA had acquired the rights to produce 1/4 scale action figures based on Marvel characters. This includes rights to both Marvel comic and movie superheroes. At the time, the only character announced (no prototypes were shown) was Iron Man in his Mark VII suit. That said, it comes as quite a (pleasant) surprise that the first 1/4 Marvel figure revealed by NECA is another character entirely: Steve Rogers as Captain America.
Captain America will launch this new towering series as he appeared in this summer's blockbuster movie, The Avengers. The figure will stand an impressive 18 inches tall and will feature over 25 points of articulation, including neck, shoulders, torso, elbows, hips, knees, wrists, and more. The figure also includes Cap's signature shield with straps and interchangeable hands. NECA's 1/4 Scale Captain America will be limited to only 7500 pieces worldwide and priced at around $80. NECA is aiming at a Christmas release.
Avengers Iron Man MKVII will be the next release in the quarter scale series; NECA is finalizing the articulation and LED light-up action on the figure.
