SDCC12: Lost Alien Figures Resurrected by Super7

New ReAction Line Based On 1979 Prototypes...

Long considered one of the biggest missed opportunities in the toy world, an lineup of 3 ¾ inch figures based on the film Alien was in production by Kenner in 1979 but ultimately cancelled. Well, Super7 is about to rewrite history with their line of ReAction (Retro-Action) Alien action figures! Through diligent research the company has tracked down and acquired the prototypes from that classic toy line and will be releasing them in the way they were originally meant to be. That means vintage looks, articulation, accessories, and, best of all, packaging. Each figure will have about five points of articulation and will come to you on a blister card with all of the details you remember from the early 80s. The series consists of what would have been the entire first wave: Ripley, Ash, Dallas, Kane in Nostromo spacesuit, and of course the Alien (“Big Chap”).

If you were lucky enough to attend San Diego Comic-Con, you could see two of those original prototypes at Super7’s booth along with cool artwork and packaging mockups.

The ReAction series is officially authorized by 20th Century Fox, and in addition to the figures Super7 will be offering other Alien and Aliens goodies like vinyl figures and glassware.

These will not be at Target folks. They will only be available on the internet at a HIGH price point.

These look neat! I can't say that I was around in 1979 but to those who were I'm sure these figures will bring nostalgic happiness.

Shame I didn't get to see them at the con. I guessed I missed them.
