Funko's new Pop! vinyl figure format has exploded, the series surpassing expectations at retail. Obviously with success there comes expansion, and Funko is going all out with the series introducing tons of new licenses including Disney, Marvel, DC and more. An entire Toy Fair showroom wall was devoted to the line, including new additions like the Ugly Dolls (pictured top), Mars Attacks (I picked one up in NY, too cute!) and an adorable Jabba the Hutt from Star Wars.


Another new format that is picking up steam is Funko's Blox. These first debuted at San Diego Comic-Con last year, and I admit to being at first skeptical. Retailers were too, according to Funko's CEO Brian Mariotti, but after holding and admiring one up close, quickly changed their tune. These are actually really neat, the 3D portrait cool on display. They measure about an inch and a half thick on the larger models - the vinyl nice and dense. Funko will be expanding this series to introduce Mini Blox 2-packs and Blox bobbleheads.


Another new Funko property is Vinyl Invaders. Styled to look like retro Japanese Super Robots, this 11-inch tall series launched just recently with Gene Simmons' "The Demon" personae from KISS. Previewed at Toy Fair was the next entry - Batman (check it out HERE) - that's due out this summer. Funko is taking their time with releasing this series, about one per quarter (four a year), each being limited to only several hundred pieces. They retail for a SRP of $39.99 each.


Last but not least was Funko's name to fame, the Wacky Wobbler. The company has no intention of stopping this series, in fact two new licenses were announced to receive the Wobbler treatment (and most likely Pop! too): Classic ThunderCats and Masters of the Universe.
