Underground Toys is holding back on new Doctor Who toys until the new season is underway, but the company did offer us a look at a few non-figure releases. First is a new line of Doctor Who ceramics (pictured top, center). In the UK, places called Ceramic Cafes are all the rage - people spend the day at them having new pottery fired up and glazed. Realizing that this isn't the case in the U.S., Underground will be releasing select ceramic items as crafty Do-It-Yourself kits that you paint with the included acrylic colors. Painting a Dalek sounds like a fun rainy day project to me! Kits will be sold as full statues, as well as pen holders for placing on your work desk. Also be on the look out for a variety of Doctor Who pins, USB devices and other novelty items sure to tide fans over until the new season begins.

A very cool item shown to us at Toy Fair was a Doctor Who TARDIS... trashcan! This awesome item is due out in the fall (pricing TBD) and opens up to broadcast electronic sound effects of the time machine dematerializing. Check out the video above to hear it in action... pretty loud for a prototype!
