NECA has made a surprise announcement on Twitter revealing that they will be releasing a new 1/4 scale Predator action figure (approximately 18 inches tall) by year's end. The unexpected release comes due to retailer demand for a new Predator at this scale for the holiday season and the successful sales of the previous 1/4 scale Predators - all three versions - each limited to 5000 units and completely selling out.

The new 1/4 scale Predator will be Gort, sold by NECA as a Comic-Con exclusive this year in 8" figure form. The larger version will feature all the details of the first, including skull and spine accessory and new left hand. NECA also states that their sculptors will be going in to add even more detail to the figure because of its larger size. Like the previous releases, the 1/4 scale Gort Predator will be limited to 5000 pieces. No variants are planned. More details to be revealed next week...
