1997's release of Spawn: The Movie was a modest box-office success, bringing with it a great visual tone, another cool toy line and most importantly, cementing Spawn in the annals of popular culture. Yes, Spawn had gone Hollywood, and while the reviews were mixed, you have to hand it to Todd for getting the job done.

Like the movie, the toy line was a mixed bag. Human figures - such as Jason Wynn and Jessica Priest - failed to excite me, but the towering deluxe figures of Violator and Malebolgia were real showstoppers.

Now if McFarlane can get a sequel (or reboot) off the ground to bring fresh energy to Spawn. The world's been waiting too long for new Spawn toys...
