2011 is the year of the Predator...
Toy Fair 2011 coverage brought to you by the following fine sponsors: BigBadToyStore.com, Sekaido.com, and Collectibles Insurance.
NECA continues to deliver amazing new Predator figures in 2011 but this time the focus will shift towards Predator 2. Hot on the heels of their highly succesful Predators figure line, the gears will shift toward the Predator sequel with the release of wave 3 which will include a masked version of the Classic Predator, Elder Predator and Predator Hound.
Next up, will be the Predator from P2 which features new articulation joints never featured in a Predator figure before. The P2 Predator will include an attack blade and will feature new double knee joits, ball-hinged hips and butt artculation (the butt will be a seperate piece which will flex depending on the the positioning of the thighs). Butt wait... there's more! NECA's goal is to release all 10 predators which appeared in the end scene of Predator 2. So basically, there will be a Lost Predator, Gort Predator and all the rest.
All three versions of the upcoming quarter scale Predator figure were on display at NECA's booth this weekend and they looked nothing less than amzing. The Predators on display were actual production samples and will feature ratcheted joints for durability and to maintain poses and prevent loosening of joints due to the figure's weight. The three variants of the Predator will include an unmasked with relaxed mandibles, open mandibles and masked version. The body netting will be actual fabric netting on the 1/4 scale Predators which enhances the already amazing sculpt and paint apps on these figures.
