    #4 TRIFORCE LOCUST DRONE MAQUETTE

Nothing says fan devotion like owning a LIFE-SIZE replica. For Gearheads, TriForce's 1:1 Locust Drone Design Maquette was pure prop replica nirvana. This monstrous piece of Gears of War history measured 19" tall and packed more polystone than we have seen in any statue or bust. On top of being huge and menacing, the Drone was personally sculpted by Chris Perna, Art Director for Gears of War at EPIC Games, so it's about as authentic and true to the game as it gets. If you're one of the lucky 500 that owns a Locust Drone Design Maquette, consider yourself one of the Gears of War elite; a fan to the Nth degree.

#3 KOTOBUKIYA RED AND GREEN HULK FINE ART STATUES

Kotobukiya has taken their Marvel statue license to a whole new level thanks to the gifted sculptural talents of artist Erick Sosa and company. This year the War of the Hulks has been taken from the pages of Marvel comics and recreated in glorious three-dimensional goodness with the release of Red Hulk and Green Hulk fine art statues. Inspired by comic artist Ed McGuiness, both Red and Green Hulks are rendered beautifully in dynamic poses from the heat of battle which ensues between them. The Red Hulk’s rage and massive physique is presented in an impressive polystone format which is also the best sculptural interpretation of the character to date. The Green Hulk statue captures the unstoppable creature in mid charge as he barrels forward at the ready to dispose of anyone who gets in his way. Both statues can be displayed separately but displaying them side by side is the icing on the cake. Whether you prefer to display them separately or facing each other off, these amazing statues are clearly some of the best statues released this year.

#2 WETA HALO MASTER CHIEF AND ARBITER STATUE

WETA Workshop is no stranger to crafting fine collectibles. They're only responsible for designing props for some of the hottest films of all time, like Lord of the Rings and District 9. They started work on the movie adaptation of HALO too, but alas it wasn't meant to be. That's not to say that WETA's work was wasted. Their passion for the project is quite evident in their series of fine HALO statues, namely, Master Chief and Arbiter. Depicting the two armored sci-fi heroes posed ready for action, the statue oozes elegant sculpt and dynamic display. As intricate and fragile as it looks, the sculpture - aside from the Arbiter's sword - is remarkably one piece. Just incredible craftsmanship. If you're looking for a bold tribute to one of the greatest video games ever made, look no further than WETA's Master Chief and Arbiter statue.

    #1 SIDESHOW'S JACK SPARROW PFF

Sideshow Collectibles generally always makes Figures.com’s “Best Of” list year after year for the remarkable statues and collectibles that the team produces based on our favorite properties. This year is no different as one of the first pieces in Sideshow’s Disney product line that began in late Summer 2009 is our choice for best statue of 2010.

The Jack Sparrow Premium Format Figure is a perfect example of the quality in sculpting, paint, and overall dedication that Sideshow puts into each and every one of their high-end collectible offerings. The beloved pirate Captain Jack Sparrow, portrayed by Johnny Depp, is captured perfectly in likeness and demeanor as he leans awkwardly on a barrel, with real cloth map underhand. Each tiny detail of Jack’s costume from the beads and charms in his hair and the shape and sculpting of his buckles and rings to the cut and print of the fabric on his clothing is movie-accurate.

On par with the design of the figure is also the versatility of display. The exclusive version allows you to display Jack either holding a coin, his pistol, or compass and a separate pistol and compass can be displayed on the figure based on which item he’s holding. The lantern (which includes a flickering light) and rum bottles can be displayed anywhere on the base as well.

Jack is certainly the best of Sideshow’s Disney offerings thus far, and it’s safe to say that he is also one of the best premium format figures Sideshow has ever done, which is why it’s so surprising that this incredible statue is still available to order through Sideshow’s website. I highly suggest ordering yours today before this pirate sails away for good, Savvy?
