Have you ever bought an action figure having NO IDEA what it is or what is from? I have, as evident with today's Card Back, a cool figure I stumbled upon in a Japanese toy store. I didn't even know the name of the figure, as the entire package is in Japanese. A Google search of "Japanese robot cat toys from Tomy" yielded an answer: CYBORG KURO-CHAN. According to Wikipedia:

Cyborg Kuro-chan is a shōnen manga series created by Naoki Yokōchi, serialized in Kodansha's Comic BonBon magazine. It centers around a housecat, Kuro, who is kidnapped and modified by a mad scientist to be a part of a cyborg army to take over the world. Kuro breaks his control chip, escapes and becomes a vigilante.
How cool is that? In addition to the insanely colorful packaging (am I buying a toy or a comic book?!), the 3" tall Cyborg Kuro-chan figure charms with its twisted cartoon sculpt. Best of all is its gatling gun arm attachment that fires REAL plastic BBs. This potentially "blinding" and "choking hazard" toy wouldn't see the light of day here in America. Cute and deadly!

    Re: Tomy's CYBORG KURO-CHAN

I been collecting Kuro Chans for years but they are so rare to find. A few years ago I got lucky and won two big lots on Ebay and then got the Lion yeras later, but haven't gotten another since. Yeah, really hard to come by.

And not only are they rare but there is two different versions, ones made officially my Tomy, then another company (I think is Latin) that come with no BBs and think quality is not as great, might be KOs. I think the show aired in Spain, or Italy, not certian.

Anyways they are very unique figures. Bendy limbs, cool weapons that can shoot and crazy cartoon head sculpts.
Just wish they were easy to get.

Cool find (and cool that this thread is still going on!). I'm pretty sure they were all bendy, though that figure is the Spanish version (see post above yours). Their heads and bodies were hard plastic, but their limbs are all bendy. Cool combination.

No idea on what these go for now, but $25 sounds about right since the previous poster said these were hard to find now. I prefer the characters with the interchangeable gun arms, but the multiple eye feature is pretty neat. If you have the cash, I say go for it. They are pretty small though - around 3-4 inches tall. Still, I think they are really unique and cool toys.

yeap, those are the Spanish Kuro Chans I was talking about. I never seen the back of those cards, also made by Tomy and none come with any shooting weapons. Guessing the toy laws for that country.

And I was mistaken, the Spanish versions are not knockoffs, but these are called Super Small Dark. Small review here.

But thats the thing about what to pay. Since these figures are rare with not a huge fan base, you really cant put a set price. You can put a set price on most Tfs, Gi Joes, Star Wars, Heman, figures. But when it comes to these type of figures, its what you want to pay.
The two lots I won years ago I payed about $30 shipped and got like 10 loose figures with two storage boxes, all complete, then years later I got the Lion mip for about $12.00 shipped. Since then I only seen maybe 10 figures on Ebay including these new listings.
I collect Devilman by Fewture, and its also the same way. I seen some figures go for $100.00 each and other times I won a 10 figure lot for $40shipped.

All the Kuro Chans I have have bendy limbs, its a feature for each figure and all their hands, feet, heads come off for changing/adding accessories.
I really don't know what how many figures there are but on Google I seen a remote vehicle they can ride in, wish I could find one.

All my Kuro Chans are in storage, when I ever get them out, I will take pics and list them here. I have lots of cool characters, even a clear cat with a gatling gun on a tripod.

Overall these pretty cool figures, small, unique design, just wish I could find more in my price range.

and I would love to get both those figures on Ebay, but thats too much for what I want to pay.
