#4 ASMUS TOYS' MUSASHI 12" FIGURE (AD ARTWORKS)

Asmus Toys burst on the collectibles scene last year with their 1/6th rendition of Dante from Devil May Cry 4. Now, the company has released another impressive figure based on the fan-favorite manga Vagabond with their 12" Miyomoto Musashi. Crafted by Andy Hsu and AD Artwork, this impressive 1/6th scale figure is the work of a master craftsman. Featuring a variety of finely made accessories, including a custom base and log diorama, a pair of die-cast samurai swords, a wooden bokken, 3 sets of hans, and more, this isn't just a figure worthy of display; it's a display worth of attention. Fans of the Vagabond manga as well as fans of the historical character Musashi won't want to miss it.

    #3 DiD'S MAJOR KONIG 12" FIGURE

Thanks to 12" figure manufacture DiD, World War II collectors may have been given one of the most impressive 1/6th scale figures of 2010 with the release of Battle of Stalingrad 1942: Major Erwin König. Based on Ed Harris' character in the movie "Enemy at the Gates", DiD brought to life this highly skilled marksman in impressive 1/6th style, providing collectors with an accurate head sculpt (featuring real whiskers), an impressive German Officer's uniform, two coats, two hats, two pair of trousers, a real wood and metal sniper rifle with scope, real leather boots and even cigarettes in a cigarette carrying case. For fans of the film or World War II, it doesn't get any better than this in 1/6th scale...

#2 HASBRO GI JOE RESOLUTE BOX SETS

These were the most anticipated sets of 2010 for Joe collectors around the world. While fans received the phenomenal animation in 2009 along with a few figures in the final waves of the 25th Anniversary collection, collectors were left with an incomplete cast of re-invisioned Joes and Cobra villains as Hasbro's focus turned to the 2009 live-action movie.

But 2010 greeted us with two sets. The Joe forces received an all-new Duke with anime specific head sculpt, all-new Scarlett, Snake Eyes (based on 2009's awesome City Strike), Sgt. Stalker, Beach Head, Flint, and Roadblock. All figures feature accessories as they appeared in the animation with great detail.

Cobra gave us a re-release of Cobra Commander, Destro with removable cybernetic arm, the Baroness, Storm Shadow, Firefly, Zartan and Cobra Alley-Viper - all faithfully reproduced against the animation models. Yo Joe!

    #1 SIDESHOW'S 12" GI JOE

Sideshow continues to impress with their amazing GI Joe 1/6 scale figures and in 2010, they took the collection to another level with the inclusion of Cobra Commander’s Throne environment and the release of several iconic characters such as Duke, Firefly, Flint and Beach Head. Sideshow truly demonstrated their commitment to making this collection shine with the last-minute inclusion of the additional camouflaged mask portrait on Firefly which was not in the original production planning. The figures looked like they stepped right out of the classic cartoon with a subtle modern twist.

With their finely tailored outfits, incredibly detailed head sculpts and vast arsenal of weapons and accessories, Sideshow’s 12" GI Joe collection is truly a fan boy’s dream come true. Boasting a unique blend of modern military and classic cartoon elements, this year’s releases stand as a testament to the one-of-a-kind creative abilities of Sideshow’s art and design team and it comes as no surprise that this collection takes the #1 spot this year.
