The Matrix totally rocked my world. Not since this summer's Inception have I walked out of theater so utterly blown away by a movie's sci-fi plot; dazed and in awe from what I just saw on the screen. Lucky for Matrix fans, toy collectibles were quickly released so that we could further bask in its computerized awesomeness. While McFarlane Toys would later make these figures look like ancient relics, N2 Toys' collection at the time was as good as it got. The squid-like Sentinel (the second set of Card Backs pictured here) was by far my favorite figure in the line, mostly because of my deep appreciation for the mechanical design. N2 Toys did a good job at getting to most of the important characters, and variants, such as Trinity with trenchcoat, kept the die-hards happy.
