The official announcement of Gears of War 3 back in April also brought confirmation from NECA that new action figures based on the game will see release (read our story HERE). Since then, many details have emerged, including a slew of wicked weapons that will make their debut. One such weapon is the Pendulum Wars Lancer, the predecessor of the chainsaw bayonet rifle most Gearheads are accustomed to.

Pictured above is an early prototype of the weapon in toy form. NECA reveals that it will come with their new Gears of War 3 Marcus and Dom action figures which the company hopes to have on display at San Diego Comic-Con.

Check out the "new" Lancer in action in the Gears of War 3 E3 Gameplay Demo below:

Sweet! Looks like they have a long way to go on it but this looks promising nonetheless. One thing I hope they iron out on these rifles is the space available for the hands on the rifles. This was especially evident on the lancers were the figures fingers were too big to get in to the gap between the grip and the chainsaw blade. Trying to get a locust drone to hold a lancer is a joke.
