Rin's Golden Wasps and Kutoneshirika
Carried by Rin, the young woman whom Manji protects, the small dagger-like blades make for a deadly attack when thrown with precision and skill. Likewise, the long spirit sword which Rin carries may not be sharp, but its meaning to the young woman is well known.
Anotsu Kagehisa's "Head Hammer" Axe and Sword
Carried by Anotsu Kagehisa, the head of the Itto-Ryu and the man responsible for Rin's parent's death, these heavy weapons are made more for brute force than elegance. However, in the hands of Anotsu, they become instruments of deadly artwork and make even the most skilled of warriors beware.
Manji's "Little Devil" Dagger and "The Crow" Spinning Blades
Two of Manji's favorite weapons, the "Little Devil" Dagger is used quite often by Manji to climb trees as well as defend from his opponent's bladed attacks. "The Crow" spinning blades, originally used by Sabato Kuroi (one of the Itto-Ryu's most feared warriors killed by Manji) are wielded - one in each hand - to both distract opponents as well as fearsomely attack.
Manji's "The Four Paths" Blades
Originally carried by his opponent Shido, Manji wields a pair of these double bladed short swords. Used primarily for defense, Manji has been known to attack with both the curved and straight edges found on these blades.
Taito Magatsu's "Grand Turk" swords
Wielded by one of the Itto-Ryu whom considers himself a friend to Manji, Taito's "Grand Turk" is a gladius-like triple-sectioned sword. The main blade is a gladius, the second is a smaller, shorter sword hidden in the gladius' handle and the last is a spear-head like dagger hidden within the second blade. The sword is curiously missing a sword guard, but that doesn't prevent it from being deadly to any who cross it.
Makie Otono-Tachibana's "Old Man of Spring"
Wielded by the most skilled warrior in the manga, Makie's double bladed three-section-staff is - in the hands of this master swordsman - both defensive and deadly. Hidden inside a hollowed-out mandolin-like instrument called a shamisen, these blades as surprising as their wielder.
Eiku Shizuma's "Wormkiller" Dagger and Saber
Wielded by the Itto-Ryu warrior Eiku, these poison blades (hence the "hair," which holds the poison) nearly kill Manji and his bloodworms.
Giichi's "Guardian of the Three Paths"
One of the most unique weapons in the series is wielded by one of the most skilled warriors, a member of the Mugai-ryu who's killed a total of 59 Itto-ryu warriors himself. Adapted from a thresher or similar farming implement, this hinged blade allows Giichi to sever or entangle limbs, necks and weapons from a distance and, as the blade's handcuff-like action wraps around anything in its path, it's difficult to defend or block.
Uruma's "Devil's Drumbstick" Machete
This massive blade, wielded by one of the minor Itto-ryu warriors, makes for an intimidating sight. Unwieldy and hard to swing, its best used against slow, immobilized opponents.
