Named the most successful entertainer of all time, Hot Toys' Micheal Jackson Thriller version is a must-have for MJ fans.

PACKAGING: The packaging for this figure is designed with only one magnetic flap covering the inner box without any outer layer. The material used is quite solid. You will see a printed paper M icon 009 with some descriptions regarding the product when you open the flap. The main color of the packaging is red with the concept from "Thriller" where MJ is wearing a total red jacket and pants. As for the figure and accessories inside the box, it is securely placed with soft sponge. There is also a cloth horse to hold the second zombie damaged coat and pant coming with this package.

SCULPT: Needless to say, I am sure everyone can tell the headsculpt is of the King of Pop. The normal version of the figure is the smiling face which was modified from the first prototype (cool looking face). Some peoples prefer the first prototype than this final version. Nevertheless, both of these versions are also a high detailed headsculpt.

The hair is sculpted curly. Facial wise, when you look closely, you can see his shaved beard on his jaw. As for the nose, eyes and mouth, it is clearly sculpted with MJ's look. The other given head in the set is also successfully sculpted with the creepy look to represent the zombie head. I was thinking, how nice it would be if the headsculpt came with PERS. Don't you think it would be more interesting?

The skin color of the figure is painted quite naturally. The colors on the face are painted with some tones. The different tones highlighted on face make the silhouette more obvious.

The lips are pinkish on the normal head, but it looks weird. As for the zombie head, the lip color is dark brown.

The red color is pretty suitable for the costumes. For the damaged jacket, there is some black paint on it, so that the effect of dirty appears. However, to me, it looks more burnt then dirty.

CLOTHING & ACCESSORIES: The original thriller suit comes with jacket, pants, t-shirt, white socks and black shoes. There is also another zombie version suit in it. For this, you would also like to get an extra African true-type slim body so that you can build another MJ out of it.

The material of the clothing is as follow:

The pants are made from fabric. Both jackets are made by some PVC material. It is quite thin but it helps the articulation as you can push the hands up to the elbow. Tailoring work is professionally done.

Based on some info, the damaged jacket for zombie is actually hand-made. The socks are stick together with the black shoes. So it can’t be separated. I am sure the fans of MJ would not be disappointed with the production of this figure as the screen accuracy is high.

As usual, this figure is packed with the thriller figure stand with MJ name plate on it. There are 5 sets of interchangeable hands and one additional posing right hand in the box so that you can pose him in the signature moves from Thriller music video.

The hand of this new African body has some detail texture on skin. It looks so real with this arrangement.

ARTICULATION: Collectors should not need to worry regarding the articulation of this figure. This is because the material used for this Thriller costume lets you pose him in most of the iconic moves from the music video. The African Slim TrueType body also helps, featuring 36 articulation points. The Hot Toys TrueType body is definitely the best 1:6 body on the market.

COST & OVERALL IMPRESSION: The idea of having extra set of costume in this package is definitely a given options for collectors to choose either to keep it for costume changing or getting another body to fit in another version of Michael Jackson.

This is the best likeness of Michael Jackson on market today. For MJ fans this is a must buy figure. I would say this is a value for money’s figure, especially when you see the level of detail and effort put for the figure. The figure brings back a lot of nostalgic memories.
